Monthly Free Event in 2023.
Amanda takes a small group into nature for an immersive, experiential experience. Engage the senses, quiet the mind, create a deeper connection to nature, and drop in to being with nature and people in a healthy way.
Monthly Free Event in 2023.
As a trained Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator, Amanda holds labyrinth walks at local churches.
Monthly we will meet to walk together at a local trail in Eastern North Carolina near the Crystal Coast. The trail may be through the woods, on the beach, an urban greenway, or across boardwalks through wetlands. Along the way Amanda will point out special features and guide you into connecting to your senses and expanding your awareness. You'll learn how to read messages from nature and how other cultures view and perceive different elements within the natural world. You'll learn tools and practices for connecting to the spirit of a place, to yourself, and ways to deepen your connection to the natural world.
Each month the walk will be at a different place. The pace will be slow. The experience is meant to be relaxing, allowing you to unwind and drop into stillness and a quiet place within...stepping out of the mental noise from the week/day. This is not a naturalist walk where you'll learn species of flora and fauna. This is also not a strenuous physical exercise you can check off for the day. On average expect 3 miles covered in two hours. Along our stroll, you'll receive prompts for contemplation, reflection, and guidance in how to awaken your senses and expand your observation skills.
We may also do a group guided meditation and/or ceremony for the place and people gathered.
Bring water, sunscreen, wear layers and appropriate shoes for the terrain.
Due to parking constraints at some locations and to not overcrowd the trails, registration is required as space is limited. Registration can be through the contact form, email, or direct message on Instagram or Facebook. This way, if the event needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather especially in Hurricane Season, you can be notified as well through the same connection path.
The event is free. The only fee may be the ferry ride over to Bear Island at Hammocks Beach State Park if the guided nature trail is on the island. That $10 fee you will pay to the park directly for the round trip ticket.
Sunday November 19th 1-3pm
Sunday December 10th 1-3pm
*2024 dates will be posted in December*
The labyrinth is a wonderful sacred container for personal and planetary transformation. Through sacred walks, participants are guided and held in support along their walking journey. You'll hear about the history of labyrinths and their use around the world and then you'll be guided to walk the labyrinth with others. Each Labyrinth walk may have a central theme which will be posted beside the date. Occasionally some labyrinth walks will follow with a creative outlet of expression as many have found doing art after the walk helps to reveal more.
Walking the Labyrinth is a journey to your center.
The monthly event is free. These sacred walks may be held at labyrinths across the Southeast. Registration is required in order to keep the group small as most labyrinth spaces can only accommodate so many at once.
Register using the link, email Amanda directly, use the contact form, or send a direct message through Instagram or Facebook.
Many of the walks are held at local churches. A donation towards the upkeep of the labyrinth would be appreciated.
